An unmarried partner may apply to join their spouse in the United Kingdom as long as they are present and settled in the United Kingdom. Settled means that they are living here lawfully with no time limit on their stay. The relationship may be heterosexual or same sex relationship, but you must not be related by blood.
Evidence that you have been living together as if you are married for at least two years would need to be shown.
