The Tier 1 - Post Study Work visa is a route for non-European Economic Area students of higher education institutes within the United Kingdom to remain in the United Kingdom for two years, upon successful completion of their qualification, to gain work experience.
If the graduate wishes to remain in the UK on completion of two year on this scheme, they must switch over to another immigration category such as the Tier 1 (General) scheme.
Students in the United Kingdom who have successfully completed and obtained a degree, Master’s degree, PhD, or postgraduate certificate in education or a post graduate diploma in education (only applicable if issued in Scotland) will qualify to apply.
The points scoring threshold for this type of visa is 95 in total. 75 points must be scored for attributes with a further 20 mandatory points for English Language Ability and Maintenance Funds. Please see below for specific criteria:

Maintenance
Post-Study Work applicants from outside the country are required to score ten points by proving they can support themselves and any dependents.

£2,800 |
2/3 of the £2,400 is required for first dependent of the main applicant, and 1/3 for each subsequent dependant. |
Most Post-Study Work migrants are expected to switch from the Student (or Tier 4) category from within the UK, in which case the Maintenance test will only require the migrant to show they have £800 in funds plus additional funds for dependants.
If spouses, unmarried partners, civil partners and children are already in the UK during the applicant's stay as a student, they can switch along with the applicant and remain in the UK. Entry clearance would be required if the dependants are applying from overseas.
