An overseas national who has a spouse that holds a valid UK visa or work permit may apply for a similar spousal visa as their dependant. The applicant will normally be issued with a stay identical in duration and terms to the one the spouse holds. In the majority of cases the visa allows the applicant to work, as long as the spouses visa allows them to work.
