November 30 2007 - US Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand Urging the Government to ease the Rules for Skilled Migrants
The American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand has stated that for the third consecutive year that United States companies based in New Zealand are hoping for and increase in more skilled workers. New Zealand needs more skilled migration urgently and the Government should be encouraging immigration for skilled people and to attract them as permanent residence.
The New Zealand points system is seen as part of the barrier as it is complex and difficult to understand. US business is not the only sector complaining about migration issues for skilled workers the Auckland Chamber of Commerce survey released in June 2007 found that the most persistent issue for businesses is finding suitable staff.
