January 14th 2011 - "UK Tier 1 (General) Visa Category Update"

Source - Adrian Dawson Ambler Collins

The UK Border Agency is expected to close the acceptance of onshore Tier 1 (General) Visas as it currently stands from 01st April 2011. They have already stopped accepting applications for those made from outside of the UK on 23rd December 2010..

Our understanding of the change to the Tier 1 (General) category is that it will be re-introduced with a cap of 1000 places and will be an extremely difficult and competitive category in which to obtain a visa..

AmblerCollins strongly recommends that anyone from within the UK who plans on applying for this visa does so now to avoid disappointment.
